Cropping without re-uploading

Cropping looks trivial but the details decide whether the result is usable. This tool lets you set the crop box by exact pixel values rather than dragging an approximate rectangle, which matters when the output has to match a fixed slot such as a product card, an avatar or a video's first frame. The crop is applied to the decoded image in your browser, so the file never leaves your device.

Because nothing is uploaded, cropping a confidential design or an unreleased product photo carries no risk of a stray copy.

Choosing a crop that survives its destination

Work out where the image will be displayed before you decide the box. A wide banner will cut a tall subject at the waist; a square avatar will lose anything placed near the corners. Crop with that final frame in mind rather than cropping to what looks best in the editor.

For a source image that will be animated, keep the subject comfortably inside the frame. Motion needs headroom, and a crop that is tight to the edges leaves the animation nowhere to move.

Loss and what you keep

Cropping permanently discards the pixels outside the box, so keep the original file if there is any chance you will need a different framing later. Exporting to PNG preserves quality exactly; exporting to JPG re-encodes the cropped area and loses a little detail each time.

Quick tips

  • Start with the full image, then tighten the crop box by pixel values.
  • Use PNG for sharp UI screenshots and WEBP for lighter web handoff.

Next step: turn a still photo into video

Everything above runs in your browser and costs nothing. When the file is ready, Animate AI takes over: upload one photo, pick a motion preset, and get a short video back. Credits are prepaid, so you see the exact price before you start.
